October
As most of you know by now I will not be coming home to visit in October as originally planned. I decided, along with Cameron and my Momma, that it would be best for me to stay here until Cameron gets home so that if he and I would like to go home together we will be able to. My job will only allow me to take so much leave time so that's what I've decided to do! I hope to see everyone soon but Cameron and I are not sure about whether or not we will even be coming home on his leave. We will just have to see. We may wait until his next leave block that he gets (after Christmas and New Years) to come home! We miss everyone greatly but since we are planning to build a house when we move back home we think this may turn out to be the best idea. We all hope that you understand! <3
Catch Up
I want to start by apologizing for my absence in the blogging world. I've been crazy busy with work and when I'm not at work I'm crazy busy laying out at the BEACH!!! :) (& working out so I can look HoT when Cam comes home!) :)
I'm going to try to catch you up as best I can...here goes! :)
Pablo has fully recovered from being neutered and he is still humping everything in site! He prefers to hump Karis, a friend of mine, but anything will substitute at this point. Oh well, hopefully he will grow out of it. He has stopped marking his territory so I don't know that I can ask for anything more!
TO EVERYONE WHO SENDS CARE PACKAGES TO CAMERON- The last day to send a care package, or any type of mail parcel, is SEPTEMBER 30th. PLEASE don't send anything after that date because Cameron will NOT be guaranteed to receive it since it will go into a holding place here in Hawaii until the guys return home. By that point who KNOWS who could go through it or get it. I've given a warning! :) As we are on the subject of Cameron I got to talk to him a few nights ago for about an hour (the total of 2 days). He seems to be in pretty high hopes and sounds great. He is asking for dip and cigarettes but that seems to be all. He sends his love to everyone!!! :) I would like to ask for the prayers for Cameron (and all other deployed military) to continue, as I pray for them every night.
I have finally gotten rid of Sprint (and I'm going to start trying to talk Cameron into the same). We'll see how far that gets us. I still have the same # but I have gone back to Verizon (Alltel). I had them before coming to Hawaii but there wasn't an Alltel here so I put my phone on a military hold until I moved back home. After talking with Spring (& w/ Verizon) I found it would be cheaper for us to pay to cancel my contract with Sprint and get a new 2 year contract with Verizon than to cancel the Verizon account. The best part of the deal? I got a BRAND NEW PHONE, for $50!!! YaY!!! :) So, I have a BRAND NEW Sprint phone for sale if anyone is interested let me know and I'll give you the details!
Laura, how do you make your diaper cakes? I am making one for a friend I've looked on-line for instructions but I can't seem to find one that I really like and I LOVED yours so if you are a good explainer would you mind sharing?

Going Private
I've been doing a lot of thinking and after much consideration have decided to go private with my blog. I have a good friend who also blogs who went private and after some things that I've seen on the news and in the papers recently I feel that will be the best decision for myself as well. I will be going private on Thursday, 9/3/09. I will not be blogging again until I do go private (not that I've done it too often lately anyway, but) if you're interested in reading my blog if you would please just shoot me an e-mail, shellie0202@aol.com so that I can add you to my readers list that would be great! :) Thanks to everyone who reads my blogs and encourages me and keeps me going it really means a lot to me and I hope to get everyone's e-mail addresses! :)
I will write again on Thursday!!! <3

My friends...
I have actually been exercising the past few weeks, religiously, and today...I put on a pair of pants without having to lay on the bed, suck in (actually not breathe), pulllllllllllllll the button into the button hole and PRAY that when I stand up it won't pop out. It was above and beyond amazing! :) I can't tell by looking at myself that I've lost weight but that was a great feeling! :) I mean, they're still tight, don't get me wrong, but I got to put my pants on while standing up for the first time in quite a while! :) THANK YOU GYM! :) (& Karis of-course since she's kept me motivated for the gym).
Just wanted to share that with everyone! Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!

Pablo...
is getting neutered today!! Along with that he's getting a K-9 pulled, he still has one baby one and one adult on one side. He's getting his booster vaccines and he's getting some other things done so lets all pray for Pablo today that he does well and comes out of this a non-marking, non-humping puppy! :) If nothing else at-least the non-marking puppy!
While we're on the subject of prayer, can we all please life up a prayer for 2/3 Marines that are in Afghanistan? They're doing a great thing out there and today the Afghans the next few days are going to be very high tension there so lets all please say a prayer! If we could also lift up my cousin Caleb it would be greatly appreciated. He's in boot camp for the Marine Corps right now and has an upper respitory infection, thanks! I got to talk to Cameron today so I was ECSTATIC!!! He's doing GREAT! :) I haven't heard him in such high hopes in a while. It was a great conversation! Not too much longer and he'll be home! YaY!

Sorry...
I'm so sorry that I promised to blog more over the weekend but have failed to do so.
This weekend I was not up to par for anything. I've been out of work the past 2 days with some sort of stomach bug. The Dr. prescribed me some anti-nausea medicine which should be labeled as a narcotic as when I took it I slept from 10:30 that night until 2:00p.m. the next day. CRAZY.
Anyway...I've gotten a lot done around the house when not feeling too bad. I bought a coffee table at a yardsale on Sunday for $5.00. It was a wood color but had paint all over it and scratches all over it. I decided I would fix it up. Looking back I wish I would've taken a before picture but I didn't so...here is the after picture...
As you can see I've also done some rearranging of sorts to the house! :) I put pictures of all of the rearrangements on my picture site. So check it out! I don't have everyones e-mails to add them but you're welcome to stop in there anytime!

Quote of all quotes :)
"Give me the greatness of heart to see the difference between duty and his love for me. Give me understanding that I may know, when duty calls him he must go. Give me a task to do each day, to fill the time when he's away. Lord, when he's in a foreign land, keep him safe in your loving hand, and Lord, when duty is in the field, please protect him and be his shield. When deployment is long, be with me & keep me strong!" ---
I found this on a friends Facebook (FB) page and I REALLY love it. It is a great quote and just wanted to share it with all of you. I plan to be back blogging this weekend! I'm off until TUESDAY after 1 o'clock this afternoon, YaY! :) Sooo, hopefully I'll be catching up. There's been a lot going on so it'll be interesting to see if I can get it all down without missing anything!
Have a great day/weekend and I love and miss you all!!

Jenn Lancaster...
is the best writer ever! :) I've been reading a lot of different books lately than I'd ever pick out at the library or the book store. (You can look through my blogs to see the books.) The latest thing I've read have been the books by Jenn Lancaster and they're hilarious! :) Thanks to Jessica for posting a blog about them so that I picked them up to read them!!!

Finnnnnnnnally....
Pablo has finally stopped barking at me all night while he's in his crate. He doesn't even whine when he has to go in it when I leave anymore & I N.E.V.E.R thought that would E.V.E.R. happen.
I guess he's finally gotten used to it & I thought that it would be great that he doesn't bark anymore. The only thing is, now I'm worried he's not breathing or he's sick again. HELP. What on EARTH will I be like when Cameron and I have children?? I'll be the "worried to death" mother who is at the E.R. every other night yelling at the desk lady to "get my baby in there now, it's dying." I can already see it...Cameron will probably think I'm just a crazy ole' hag! :)
Anyway, it's amazing to not have to hear any barking anymore it definitely makes for a much more peaceful time when it's time to sleep!!

Pablo
Soooo...I've learned that having a puppy is almost like having a child except that a puppy never grows up and learns to take care of itself. It always needs you to take care of it. Which is fine with me but it is starting to get very stressful! :) I L.O.V.E our Pablo but wow.
Last week Pablo went to the vet, not where I work, to get his Lepto shot & his Bordetella vaccine, which was done intra-nasel, and ever since then he's been doing this "coughing" thing through his nose. Well, the night before last he started doing this "coughing" allllllllllll night. Between the "coughing fits" he was throwing up, EVERYWHERE. He started out in his crate, since we're trying to put him in HIS bed at night rather than with me, and he threw up in there while coughing. I decided it would be best to take him out of there so he wouldn't have to get throw up all over him so he proceeded to get in the bed with me. I thought this would be fine since he had already thrown up everything he'd eaten that night, so I thought. Anyway, 3 comforters later, I am sleeping on the couch so I have something to cover up with, Pablo is still throwing up all over the entire house and coughing. I get ready for work at 6:00a.m., after only 45 minutes of "Shut-eye". I take Pablo with me to work and he is FINE. GRRR! The Dr.'s put him on I/D, a food that is very bland. Pablo eats it and seems to looooooooove it but he isn't drinking any water. So, from 5p.m. the night before until 1:00 this afternoon Pablo has only peed 1 time. So I get Melissa to bring Pablo to work so I can get the Dr. to look at him again and he is dehydrated so he gets some fluids and now he's fine. Thank GOD! I was STRESSING OUT about it.
Not to mention I had to mop the entire house after not sleeping the night before, I had to wash all the covers in the house and I had to take care of a sick puppy all night. I can't imagine having a child. I think I would probably go CRAZY. :( I do love my Pablo but he's cost a good bit of money the past few days. He is back to his normal self, flinging his toys on the laptop every few seconds causing me to have to delete everything he "types" on a continuous basis! :)

Results
I got the results from the Colonoscopy/Endoscopy and wanted to let everyone know that things will be fine! :) I do have a stomach ulcer of pretty large size (in ulcer sizes :) ) and multiple small ones. The Dr. didn't exactly say the small "spots" were ulcers but said they act as ulcers do in the beginning stages. The Dr. said there are approximately 20 or so little spots all throughout my stomach. AHH! I am sooo happy to know what is going on and to know what to do to fix it! I am still taking the Nexium which helps, TREMENDOUSLY, and I'm working on changing my diet to benefit more.
With my diet change I have to stop eating salad, as often, which sucks because I've really become addicted to eating a good salad w/ some meat on it! :) Oh-well. Lettuce just isn't the best to digest! I can still sneak it in every once a while though!
I DO want to thank EVERYONE for all of the prayers and thoughts during all of the tests and the pain! It really means a lot to me knowing that I have such great friends and family! :)

30 more lbs. to go...
As most of you know I've been in the process of trying to loose weight for quite some time. So since I have been going to the gym, whenever "possible", and I've been trying to eat smaller portions and I'm GAINING WEIGHT I have decided that I'm going to have to step it up a notch.
I went to the store and bought some apples, cherries, and lettuce to make some killer salads! :) I just baked some porkchops to cut up and put on the salad, yummy! Anyway, I've decided that I'll be exercising on a regular basis, starting Thursday! <--I know I know. I can't start until Thursday because the Dr. said I needed to worry about getting hydrated and getting my stomach back to normal after drinking all of the "cleanser" and not being able to eat or drink during that time.
Soooo.....here goes! :) I am hoping to stick with it this time as Cameron has been working out and I would LOVE to be in shape and thinner when he comes home! I think that would be a nice welcome home present for him! That way we will be able to go and do things together like hike, go see waterfalls and etc!
That's my plan and I'm sticking to it. Hopefully! :)

Colonoscopy/Endoscopy
Most of all I would like to thank my Mother for coaching me through drinking the entire GALLON of NASTINESS that I had to drink in order to prep for the procedure. Second of all I would like to thank Melissa for putting up with my complaining, no direction giving, tired, groggy ass! :)
All that aside the procedure went good. I am a little sore today where they did a biopsy in my stomach (I called and they said that is to be expected). I am also a little sore in the "southern" region but I think that was from the prep!! haha!
I go tomorrow to get the results of the biopsy they did. I am positive it is just the stomach ulcer that they did the biopsy on!
So, I was pretty scared about having to be put under anesthesia but I am telling you it was awesome! :) I told the nurse not to tell me when she was going to start it in my I.V. because then I would be worried to death about it so I just passed out and woke up 2 hours after I was supposed to! :) What can I say? I LOVE me some sleep!!!

Today/Tomorrow
Melissa and I went and saw "Bruno" last night. It was HILARIOUS. I laughed my a*s off the entire time. We then went to see "I love you, Beth Cooper" and it was a cute movie. It was a F.U.N.N.Y night. :)
I went with Pavla yesterday during the day to the beach on base, Pyramid Rock Beach, and we laid out for a few hours. I swear if you miss a 1/2" of your body with sunscreen you will be BURNED in that spot. The sun is SCORCHING here. It's wonderful though!!! :)
I got out this morning and planted 4 new flowers! I got False Heather, Double Orange & Red Hibiscus, something else? and a potted plant that was like 3 different flowers in one. It's nice because I can just sit it on my front porch and leave it there in the sun and not have to transplant it. I am hoping that these plants will do well. The other plants I planted haven't been doing so well lately. Grr...I think the slugs/snails are eating the plant leaves.
I am to prepare, in 3 minutes, to empty my body for a colonoscopy/endoscopy tomorrow. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I'm N.O.T. happy about that. I am STILL confused as to how I am to drink a GALLON of SH*T in a DAY. I don't even drink one gallong of ANYTHING in like 3 days. GRRR....I guess I will do it, or I'll have to do it again at some point. Seriously, can't I just take a pill?? lol!! :)
How is everyone doing? I miss hearing from everyone!!! Anytime anyone wants CALL ME!! :) Oh, btw, I heard from my A.M.A.Z.I.N.G husband yesterday!! :) It made my heart smile to hear his voice!!!
Hope everyone has a great day/week!!!

When webbing becomes a problem.
I googled some blogging topics because I've been having "blogging block" the past few days...So here is a topic I've come across: When webbing becomes a problem.
When does using the internet become a problem? I will honestly say that I'm addicted to the internet. I have a hard time without being able to check my Myspace or my Facebook during the day; therefore I have it on my phone. I don't usually update my information on my phone but I am addicted to looking at it.
Why is it that when we're away from our computers that we NEED to be able to check these sites? When is enough, enough? Do people use these websites to occupy their "alone" time because they don't feel comfortable just being by themselves? What ever happened to just reading a book, going for a walk, scrapbooking, watching a good movie, or even having a good conversation? I know that when I check my Myspace there are a few people that update their status by the hour (some even by the 1/2 hr mark). Isn't that pushing the limits a little? I know that I don't reallllllly have much room to talk but I don't update it THAT often, do I? :)
What's everyone's opinions? I'm going to T.R.Y. to do this more often (just find random topics to discuss...) if this bothers anyone let me know!! :)

The G Family...
Just an update from A, one of the fiance's mothers:
J got an email from the Family Readiness Group and was told that if there had been a death, she would have been contacted within 24 hours. So that was a relief to to everyone. It will be a longer period to hear about injuries. Due to the circumstances in Iraq, the soldiers are on Communication block so that is why no one has heard from them. Thanks for the prayers, and please continue to lift up the families of the soldiers that were killed, whom ever they may be.
A
Just thought everyone would like to know! Thank you all for your prayers!!! :) The family really appreciates/d them!!

16 & Pregnant...
Okay so I know that originally I disagreed with Ashley's post about 16 and Pregnant but I must say after watching the last 3 shows I am going to agree. I do love the show, as Ashley said we love trashy t.v., but the show does NOT show how hard it is to be a mom, much less at 16. My friends at work and I have yet to understand why there are enough 16 year olds having children to make a show about it and to use different girls e.v.e.r.y.t.i.m.e. I don't get it. COME ON...that's horrible. Are the parents not doing their job in raising their kids or do their kids just really not give a shit about their lives and the lives they are creating?
The girls on the show A.L.W.A.Y.S. say the following "I just want him to grow up. I grew up because I had to." Okay, so this is obviously my opinion, but sweetheart if you were "grown up" you would TELL him to grow up or get out, you would not have gotten pregnant at 15 or 16 and you would take care of your own child without asking your parents to do it for you. They are NOT the ones who got pregnant. They are not the ones who had the "fun" so they do NOT need to raise the child.
A lady I work with, V, said her daughter is a nurse at one of the hospitals here in Hawaii and it's apparently a big thing for teenagers to be pregnant here. Well, V's daughter was making her rounds and was checking on one of these teenage mothers and asked her if she had fed her new child when the mother responded with "That's your job, I don't even know where to start on that." SERIOUSLY? You would THINK that if you were pregnant you would STUDY that kind of stuff or ASK before you HAD THE CHILD. What kind of life are these children going to have when their parents have NO CLUE about life? How are they to teach their children how to handle certain situations? I am not a mother so maybe I should look at this a little differently but I would think that as a mother you would have stronger feelings about this than I do...I don't know.
I'm just flabbergasted at this. Anyone else have an opinion they want to share?
