Pet Insurance

I REALLY want to get Pablo neutered and it is going to be approximately $280 to get it done (with the HI certificate that cost $50).

Since I am interested in this I am looking into getting Pet Insurance which is approximately $43.00 a month (www.petinsurance.com) and it will cover the following:

VPI Superior Plan with a $50 per-incident deductible offers the highest reimbursement for accidental injuries, emergencies and illnesses, including cancer.

Pet Well Care Protection Premier covers wellness treatments including dental cleaning or spay/neuter procedures
.

This insurance will also cover annual exams and vaccinations. So what I'm wondering is whether or not this would be worth it? An annual exam is at-least $175.00 a year, then vaccinations, the neuter is $260 (yes, it's a one time thing but still), then you have the dental cleanings that are on average $200 per cleaning. This will also cover Pablo if he gets ear mites, ear infections, it will cover medications prescribed by the doctor, etc.

What is everyone's opinion??? Let me know! :)

$43 a month sounds kinda high, but if you think about it, you would probably spend way more than that a year on a lot of things for him.

there is always something that dogs get into or something that happens to them and they need a vet. especially with little doggies when they get older.

i think it will be worth it in the long run!
