There is going to be a 5K "Runway Run" on July 4th and it cost $20 to register and I think I'm going to do it!!
I think it will motivate me more to go to the gym! I did go to the gym today and I ran 1.5 miles on the treadmill. I know that isn't really a long way but for ME it is. I have never been able to run and breathe at the same time so that is a HUGE deal for me. I have QUIT SMOKING though (it's been a week and 2 days since I last smoked) and I think that's helping me a lot. I know it's helping with the breathing in general. PLUS, I have more energy than I've ever had and I don't have to worry about buying them anymore and I can't STAND the smell of cigarettes now! LOL! I'm just soooo glad that I stopped. Don't get me wrong it is REALLY hard still. I crave one every day all day but I'm trying to stay busy in order to remain "stopped". :)
What's everyone's opinion on the 5k? Should I do it or is that too much too soon??

I think you should go for it! I think a month will give you a good bit of time to prepare for it. Just increase the miles you run each week until you are ready. And if you get tired during the 5K, hell at least you tried, ya know? I give you props...I would pass out dead! lol!
I'm jealous. I wish I could.
I'm deathly afraid of even trying to run on the treadmill b/c of my severe lack of coordination!
