My thought for the day...

So, I was thinking, while Pablo was running around to and from every spot in the yard trying to find the "right place" to poo; Keep in mind he did this for at-least 5 minutes before finding that perfect spot. I get so aggrevated that it takes ohhhh so long to find that perfect spot but then I thought about it...what if we as humans had to find "the perfect spot" to poo? I am now thankful that I don't have to wait 5 minutes running around trying to find the perfect spot to poo because I can tell you I don't think I'd make it sometimes. lol. NOW, I will be much more patient with my Pablo who is always going to have to hold it for at-least 5 minutes outside looking for that spot...

Auntie...

SHELL!! :) I don't know WHY it's taken me so long to put it on here but I'm going to be an AUNTIE!! :) For everyone who knows my sister know's she's tried getting pregnant a few times and it's been difficult for her but she is PREGNANT!!!!! YaY! She's (I think?) 9 or 10 weeks this past Monday which is WONDERFUL news! Her and her husband (J) got to see the heartbeat a few weeks ago and are more than ecstatic. J already has 2 children from a previous marriage and they are nothing but ecstatic as well. How wonderful? I thought they would be jealous since the baby wouldn't be from their "Momma" but I'm more than THRILLED they took the news well!! :)

The crappy part, I'm stuck in Hawaii. lol. I will get to see my sister (S) and J in October when I go home to visit but other than that I will not get to see baby until baby is around 1 years old. Come on. Horrible timing but that's okay. I guess that pictures will suffice! I do already have wonderful nephews on Cameron's side of the family (M & L) who are adorable and the sweetest so I know that baby will be on up there on the list too!!! Just wanted to share my news with everyone!!!

Sleep Deprived....

Oh man. I'm trying to get Pablo on a schedule so that he will be POTTY TRAINED, hopefully, but in order to do this I have to get myself on a schedule. Keep in mind I've never been on a schedule before no matter what, especially on my days off from work. So I'm now going to be relaxing from 10pm-11pm, lights out at 11p.m. (this is very difficult for me since I am a night person). I am to get up every morning at 7a.m. whether I work or not, ahhh, what happened to sleeping in on your days off? I'm to go to the gym, or do something to get dressed and out of the house at 7a.m. so that I don't just go get back in the bed and Pablo will have time to eat & potty before I leave then go in his crate at-least by 9:30, every day, since that's when I would leave for work. AHHH. Seriously. I did not realize having a puppy was like having a child....anyone have a puppy with some ideas on potty training? I'm trying and trying...obviously changing my schedule to suit his schedule but come on. I'm the only one giving. Any suggestions?

'CoverCover of The Wednesday Letters

Has anyone ever used "Zemanta" before? It's supposed to be to help with blogging so I have downloaded it and I'm not to sure how to work it?!
Well, I read a new book, "The Wednesday Letters." It was a really good book. It was definitly a "cryer." I love that kind of book though.
I have also gotten another new book, "I hope they serve beer in Hell." It is supposed to be a very funny book written from the experiences of the writter. I have just started it but will let you all know how it turns out! :)

My not so beautiful flowers...

So, I have figured it out.

THE MAINTENANCE PEOPLE SPRAYED THE GARDEN WITH THEIR OWN ROUNDUP & IT'S KILLING MY PLANTS.

AHHH.

I'm pissed, just slightly, because 1. I put trash bags over ALL my plants when I sprayed the round up (that by the way took like 2 1/2 hours to do) and THEN the maintenance people come and spray MY garden with either insects killer or weed killer and THEN DON'T CARE ABOUT THE FLOWERS.

Seriously, WTF?

Wish List Wednesday (on Thursday)

Ashley has posted her wishlist Wednesday and I think it's a wonderful idea....Here goes! :)

1- The Dooney & Burke purse I've been DROOLING over for YEARS. :)

2- Mine & Cameron's dream house- except it's going to have a wraparound porch & trees all around it on our land at Momma & Daddy's! :)

3- Backpacking through Ireland with Cameron.

4- A University Degree- I just have to figure out what I want to go for...

5- A baby with my wonderful husband Cameron! :)

Of-course these are the wishes of the "future" except for the purse of-course! :) Next week I will pick items that are more short term...and wishful! lol!

I've been MIA...

I have officially started working at the Vet, Feather & Fur Animal Clinic. I am HYPED about it! :)
I worked 17 hours this week training but have a FULL-TIME schedule next week!! YaY! :) I am working 4 10 hour shifts which I think will be AMAZING. Hopefully it will continue to be the 1- hour shifts! If not that's okay too. 40 hours a week is just wonderful!
Thanks for all the opinions on the Pet Insurance. I have decided against it. I have decided that since Pablo is an inside dog it will be very rare that I need the insurance, except for the annuals, the vaccinations & the preventitives. If that were to be the case I would be paying like $200 more a year on insurance than I would even be using for "just in case." Thanks though for the opinions! :) I took each of them to heart!
I got to talk to Cam this week (Sunday?) on myspace im for like 2 hours. Yay! So for everyone that's been keeping track on here he is doing fine! They did loose a Marine in 2/3 Echo so if everyone could stop and say a prayer for the continued safety of the Marines and the comfort for the fallen Marine that would be great. Here is a link to the page, http://www.mcbh.usmc.mil/news/Jun12A9.pdf, if anyone is interested. There was also a soldier killed at the same time so if we could all say a prayer for his family as well that would be great.
Pablo is driving me crazyyyy. I have signed him up for obedience classes starting on July 22nd but will have to cancel them due to my work schedule. The classes were only on Wednesday night from 7p-8p and I work until 9p. SOOO. I am going to try to find another reasonably priced obedience school for Pablo that is on a Sunday morning or Sunday evening posisbly.
I round-up-ed the garden the other day, after putting trash bags over ALL of my plants to ENSURE they didn't get any round-up on them. I left the trash bags on the plants for 2 hours after spraying to make SURE nothing got on my plants. STILL THEY ARE STARTING TO DIE. :( I am really upset by this. The f'n weeds are STILL STANDING. WTF? Any suggestions?

Pet Insurance

I REALLY want to get Pablo neutered and it is going to be approximately $280 to get it done (with the HI certificate that cost $50).

Since I am interested in this I am looking into getting Pet Insurance which is approximately $43.00 a month (www.petinsurance.com) and it will cover the following:

VPI Superior Plan with a $50 per-incident deductible offers the highest reimbursement for accidental injuries, emergencies and illnesses, including cancer.

Pet Well Care Protection Premier covers wellness treatments including dental cleaning or spay/neuter procedures
.

This insurance will also cover annual exams and vaccinations. So what I'm wondering is whether or not this would be worth it? An annual exam is at-least $175.00 a year, then vaccinations, the neuter is $260 (yes, it's a one time thing but still), then you have the dental cleanings that are on average $200 per cleaning. This will also cover Pablo if he gets ear mites, ear infections, it will cover medications prescribed by the doctor, etc.

What is everyone's opinion??? Let me know! :)

These are for you! :) These are the only ones of the house right now! :)

<3 you & can't wait to see you!

The big 5k...

There is going to be a 5K "Runway Run" on July 4th and it cost $20 to register and I think I'm going to do it!!

I think it will motivate me more to go to the gym! I did go to the gym today and I ran 1.5 miles on the treadmill. I know that isn't really a long way but for ME it is. I have never been able to run and breathe at the same time so that is a HUGE deal for me. I have QUIT SMOKING though (it's been a week and 2 days since I last smoked) and I think that's helping me a lot. I know it's helping with the breathing in general. PLUS, I have more energy than I've ever had and I don't have to worry about buying them anymore and I can't STAND the smell of cigarettes now! LOL! I'm just soooo glad that I stopped. Don't get me wrong it is REALLY hard still. I crave one every day all day but I'm trying to stay busy in order to remain "stopped". :)

What's everyone's opinion on the 5k? Should I do it or is that too much too soon??

Our Yard

I was absolutely SiCk of driving into our driveway and seeing this (below) every day...

Soooo...I got my lazy butt out of the house and pulled all the weeds & it took me 2 hours for 2 days to get them all because it was tiring. I still can't "sit" on the toilet...I have to simply fall and pray I'll be able to get back up! lol! I also went and bought some flowers and planted them in the rock "garden" so I hope that you all enjoy!! :) I know that I sure do enjoy driving up to flowers rather than weeds! Except, the weeds have ALREADY started to grow back! AHHH!

(I also have an orange & a yellow hibiscus bush but they aren't blooming yet...)
The bushes that aren't blooming are the other hibiscus bushes...

These are "castle mixes" and they seperate the Hibiscis bushes...

I'm sorry there isn't a better picture of the entire garden where you can see everything, I'm hoping that the plants will grow bigger and I'll be able to get a better picture! :)

Procedures....

So, when I went to the Doctor on May 26th for my stomach problems he advised me that I will need to have a Colonoscopy & an Endoscopy to determine what is causing the horrible heart burn and to make sure I don't have any tumors...SCARY. They are also going to check to make sure I have no polyps (sp) and they need to decide if I have Chron's Disease rather than IBS. AHH! I think that instead of telling you what they are looking for BEFORE the procedure that they should wait until they FIND something and tell you what it IS. Seriously though. I have a stomach ulcer, we are positive of that, but they want to make sure that is all that it is since the antacids are not making the problem go completely away. If it were just a stomach (or intestinal) ulcer the antacids should have already cleared up the problem. So on July 13th I'll be going in for the procedures and they will be done at the same time so that I do not have to be put under anesthesia more than once.
I'm scared to death. The only time I've ever been "put to sleep" is when I got my wisdom teeth out. I know it's the SAME thing but still! Come on! I'm just more worried that they are going to use the same camera for the Endoscopy & the Colonoscopy and that they may do the Colonoscopy first...haha. Uck. I'm really worried about that though! lol! I'm just stressing out I do believe...

Feather & Fur...

offered me the job position!! :) YaY! The only thing that stinks is the position doesn't start until the end of June...but....it's better than never!!!! :D I'm very excited to start.
I am still working at the 7 day store until the job starts at the end of this month and I am still hating every second of it! Ahhh! Oh-Well! I've asked for more hours but they can only give me 20 hours a week for now because the Dr. technically hasn't cleared me to work 40 hours a week yet. So aggravating!

My Sweetheart...

called today! :) We got to talk for a good little while and he seems to be doing great! He is asking for Ramen Soup (Chicken Flavor), Shampoo/Body Wash (the mixed stuff), Dip (Copenhagen Long Cut) and for Amp Energy Drinks! He wanted me to tell everyone HELLO & that he loves everyone!!! :) I'm sorry that he can't call everyone (& so is he, believe me) but where he is he does not have a phone, computer or even shower. Therefore he only has access to these items when he goes to the main base, which is once a week, if that. Hopefully he will have time to call everyone once they get settles in a bit more! :D
I'm so happy that he is doing great, just hearing his voice makes my week better!
As for my week...I have been going to work interviews the past 2 days at a vet, Feather & Fur Veterinary Clinic, right out of the back gate. I go tomorrow (Friday) after work at the Marine Mart for my last working interview & I will hopefully find out whether or not I will be hired! If hired it will eventually be a full-time position!! YaY! Even in the beginning when it is not a full-time position, I will be working at the Marine Mart on the weekends to work off my 2 weeks notice. I haven't given that yet, I am waiting to see if the job is going to be offered to me! :)
I feel so lucky to be given this opportunity at the vet. Everyone is so nice and I absolutely love the environment. I also LOVE animals, as most of you know, so I think it's a perfect job for myself! I also LOVE doing computer work and getting things organized (receptionist) so I think it's a great fit for me! :) I feel so lucky to even be offered this job with the environment the way it is right now!!!

Alltel Blackberry Curve 8330 Smartphone

Okay, so I have been trying to sell my Alltel Blackberry Curve 8330 smartphone pretty much, FOREVER. If anyone knows ANYONE that is interested in this type of phone please let me know how much they are willing to pay for it and I will let them know if it is an acceptable amount. Keep in mind it comes with 2 batteries, 1 wall charger, usb cord, help set that came with the phone, the phone case and the phone *obviously*. I am ASKING $200 to cover the shipping costs but if that isn't possible I will negotiate. Just let me know please if you all know anyone who is interested! :) Thanks!

Working Interview

I went to an interview at Feather & Fur in Kailua *it's a vet clinic* this past Wednesday. I go this Wednesday & Thursday for working interviews to see if they like me and to see if I like the place! I am really excited. It pays around the same that I am getting now but MORE HOURS!! :D YaY!! It will eventually be a full time job *once the MM finds a replacement for me* and I will be rotating weekends. I really hope that it is something that I enjoy and will be good at!
Has anyone ever done a working interview? I have never done one and am not sure exactly what to expect. Do you get paid for such a thing? Any ideas?

Puppies

I love Pablo but man ole man I didn't know that puppies were like little babies! :) Pablo needs my attention 24/7 when I'm at home and he will NOT stop until he gets it! Grr..

He has learned how to take my hair-tie out of my hair when I'm trying to sleep, sitting on the couch, or anytime he can reach my hair. That is really funny, sometimes!

Pablo is starting to lose his baby teeth and it's starting to freak me out! He's lost 3 in the past week! AHH! The only reason I even noticed is because he tries to EAT them. He chews on them and it's a HORRIBLE noise so I have to PRY his mouth open to get the tooth out...it's so weird. I honestly had NO idea that puppies lost baby teeth because at home (in Waxhaw) our dogs were always outside dogs and we never saw them lose their teeth!

Anyway...before Cameron left we took Pablo to the beach for the first time. He was not a big fan and the next day he pooped sand castles...it was hilarious! :)

Eating the sand...

50th State Fair

Melissa & I went to Hawaii's 50th State Fair yesterday and it was a lot of fun! I didn't think that it would be fun at all but I ended up really enjoying myself! :) Here are some pictures...

Silly Faces :)

Me "milking the cow"--disgusted

Melissa "milking the cow"

As you can see we got to "milk a cow" and it "squirted" out water. It was disgusting to me but Melissa loved it! :)

We also got to watch pig races which was a LOT of fun! It was hilarious!! The Chicago Knockers were there and they did some mud wresteling and that was really funny/fun too! Everyone is supposed to be on T.V. here in Hawaii because they were taping the wrestling for Channel 2 because the news caster wrestled with the women & they got their butts kicked!! :) It was hilarious!

Cam's Departure...

SoOoO...I'm quite a bit behind on blogging! I'm sorry for that. I have been CRAZY busy trying to get the house in order, trying to keep up with Pablo and hanging out with Mrs. Melissa! :)
Cameron left on May 12th to go to Afghanistan. It's been ALMOST 2 weeks and he will be gone for approximately 7 months. Here are a few pictures of when he was leaving...

(Cameron & his friend Tauge)

Just wanted everyone to see some pictures! :) I have lots more but not nearly enough space!
Cameron called today and he seems to be great! Today was the first day at the FOB (Forward Operating Base) so he hasn't had any letter writing materials so no one will be getting letters for a few weeks! He does have the materials now! He has not recieved any boxes yet but I told him some have been sent to him so he should be expecting them within the next few weeks!

Mokapu Lighthouse

Cameron and I went on a hike in Waimanalo to see the Mokapu lighthouse. It was a pretty good walk, no where near as bad as Diamond Head Crater, but it was a good walk. There was a lot of stuff to stop and look at on the hike to take a break and it was a lot of fun! Cameron and I had a great time and were very proud of ourselves for finally getting out of the house the last week and doing things in Hawaii since you know, we live here and all, yet we never take advantage of that fact. SO we have decided to do that from now on. I know it's a little late since he just left but we started before he left and plan to do a lot of things when he comes back! Here are a few pictures to share! :) We also so a seal playing in the water but in the picture you can't really tell what it is so I didn't put it up!
